Buyer Questions
After buyer qualification and signing an NDA, Corpmna provides identifying information for the specific MSB structure. You can then independently verify the corporation and its MSB registration through the relevant official government registries before deciding whether to proceed.
For Canadian structures, the FINTRAC Money Services Business Registry may display the registered organization's website. You can compare the listed domain with the domain of the offered structure. Corpmna then demonstrates current administrative control of that domain and its corporate email environment through a buyer-specific DNS record, a temporary verification token placed on the domain, and/or a challenge email sent from a corporate mailbox using that domain.
For U.S. structures, you can verify the MSB registration through the FinCEN MSB Registrant Search and the corporation through the relevant state registry. Domain and corporate-email control are demonstrated separately through the same live verification methods.
Because Corpmna creates and prepares the structures it offers, qualified buyers receive an evidence-based opportunity to verify the registration, corporate existence, and digital control of the specific structure before proceeding. This allows buyer confidence to be based on independent verification rather than representations alone. Learn more in the Verification & Trust Center.
Before NDA & Regulatory Expectations
This registration allows the corporation to lawfully conduct MSB activities in the U.S. — virtual currency exchange, foreign exchange, money transmission, payment service provider activity, and other MSB activities listed in its registration. Without this requirement completed, such activities cannot be conducted; with it, they can.
Regulatory context: FinCEN MSB registration is the mandatory federal requirement under the Bank Secrecy Act. Formally it is a registration rather than a license, not an endorsement of any specific business. FinCEN states that appearance on the MSB Registrant Search Page is not a recommendation, certification of legitimacy, or endorsement by FinCEN or any other U.S. government agency, and that it does not license MSBs to operate in the United States. Additional state-level requirements (such as state Money Transmitter Licenses) may apply depending on the business model and jurisdictions involved; Montana is currently the only U.S. state where FinCEN registration alone is sufficient for MSB activity in that state.
This registration allows the corporation to lawfully conduct MSB activities in Canada — virtual currency exchange, foreign exchange, money transmission, payment service provider activity, and other MSB activities listed in its registration. Without this requirement completed, such activities cannot be conducted; with it, they can.
Regulatory context: under the PCMLTFA, FINTRAC registration is the mandatory federal requirement. Formally it is a registration rather than a license, not an endorsement of any specific business or business plan. FINTRAC itself states that registration does not indicate endorsement or licensing of the business; it indicates that the business has satisfied the legal requirements to register with FINTRAC. Depending on the business model, additional steps may apply, such as Bank of Canada RPAA registration for certain payment service providers.
